Managing Soil Health by Soil Land & Food

Save the date! 1 Day Soil Workshop

Demystify soil health and learn how to manage it on your place.

This practical workshop gives participants the skills to assess and benchmark the biological, chemical and physical health of their soil using field skills and soil tests. We use the RASH approach (Rapid Assessment of Soil Health) which is an easy way to manage your soil’s health. We cover:

  • What is soil health and why is it important
  • Soil health issues – compaction, pH, soil salinity, organic matter, sodicity, soil biology etc.
  • Assessing soil health – in the paddock
  • Assessing soil health – using a soil test
  • Identifying soil constraints
  • Soil health options – including planned grazing, cover crops min-till, lime, biologicals and compost
